Susannah · Wellfleet, Massachusetts
Hi! I'm Susannah, licensed therapeutic massage therapist at my home practice, SeaRose Massage in Wellfleet, Massachusetts.
My journey into massage therapy began with my own experience of going through breast cancer after my diagnosis at 42. During a year of many surgeries and treatments, I discovered firsthand how profoundly healing compassionate touch can be. Massage offered me not only physical comfort, but also moments of peace, relaxation, emotional release and connection to my body at a time when so much felt uncertain and frightening.
With the support of the Cape Wellness Collaborative, I came to understand that massage is so much more than a luxury. It can be an essential form of care, particularly during times of illness, emotional stress, and life's many transitions. That experience inspired me to become a massage therapist so I could offer others the same comfort and support that meant so much to me.
Today, as a licensed massage therapist, I specialize in oncology massage, prenatal massage, therapeutic bodywork, Swedish relaxation massage, and TMJ/buccal massage for jaw tension and discomfort. Each session is thoughtfully tailored to the person on my table, with an emphasis on listening, creating a sense of safety, and meeting people wherever they are in their lives and their bodies. I also believe in sharing knowledge about how our bodies carry stress and how we can release chronic tension and stress in our lives beyond and in harmony with massage therapy.
The power of stories
As a writer, I've spent much of my life listening to people's stories. As a massage therapist, I've come to understand how deeply our bodies carry them. I believe that being truly listened to and cared for is an important part of healing.
Why SeaRose?
I named my practice SeaRose after the wild beach roses that grow along the Cape Cod coast. To me, they symbolize beauty, resilience, and the quiet strength it takes to weather life's storms. I live in Wellfleet and offer massage both in my home practice and in clients' homes throughout the Lower and Outer Cape.
“My hope is that every massage at SeaRose offers you a moment of deep peace—a chance to rest, reconnect with yourself, and feel genuinely cared for.”
I look forward to welcoming you.
If you have questions about a service or you're ready to book, I'd love to hear from you.
